WHAT TO DO IN THE REGION
Just a 2.5 hour drive from Sydney or 1 hour from Newcastle, Stroud is a relatively unknown gem in the countryside. With great amenities, little traffic and crowds, Stroud and surrounds will become your new favourite weekend getaway. Stroud can be your Barrington Tops basecamp.
There is so much to do in Stroud and surrounding region - bushwalks to find beautiful waterfalls, horseriding, kayaking, fishing for flat head in secret spots, swimming in the many waterholes provided by the Karuah River, driving or motorcycling along one of Australia's oldest Tourist Drives, stopping at the many organic produce stalls along the way, dining at various country style establishments, wine, beer and gin tasting, star gazing.... just to name a few. Stroud has a long and rich history, just walking the main street you'll find buildings and common areas steeped in history.
